Alexandria Ocasio Cortez was at the C40 World Mayors Summit in Copenhagen as a guest speaker when she got teary eyed speaking about climate change and the effect it will have on our future children. The goal of this summit is to gather with word leaders, activists, city delegates, mayors, and climate experts among others to present the innovative actions they have taken to reduce green house gas emissions and improve climate resilience. Additionally, this summit serves as a way to urge other national and local leaders to take bold and urgent action in combating climate change.
As many know AOC is a big supporter of addressing climate change and she is a co-sponsor of the "Green New Deal" alongside Sen. Ed Markey. Even though her proposed legislation failed to advance in the Senate, she has not given up her fight towards addressing the dangers climate change.
As a future parent, are you concerned about bringing a child into the world with the impending doom of the effects of climate change? I'm not. I'm more concerned with bringing a child into the world with the political and societal craziness that seems to be plaguing our nation right now. That's what I'm concerned about, that's the real threat.
