Babson College Professor has been fired for his Facebook Iran post

Babson College professor and Director of Sustainability, Asheen Phansey, has now been fired by the college for his controversial Facebook post. The post (now removed) was an attempt at a joke (he claims) in which he poked fun at President Trump's tweet in which Trump said "if Iran strikes any Americans, or American assets, we have targeted 52 Iranian sites (representing the 52 American hostages taken by Iran many years ago), some at a very high level & important to Iran..." Phansey in turn came up with a list of 52 American cultural targets that Iran could bomb.

Phansey mentioned this in this Facebook post: "The Supreme Leader of Iran] should tweet a list of 52 sites of cultural American heritage that he would bomb … Um … Mall of America? … Kardashian residence?”

Babson College conducted an investigation into their Professor's Facebook account and post and in the end released this STATEMENT.

Asheen Phansey made a statement through his attorney, addressing his termination from Babson College.

“I am sorry that my sloppy humor was read as a threat … I am completely opposed to violence and would never advocate it by anyone...I am disappointed and saddened that Babson has decided to abruptly terminate my 15-year relationship with the college just because people willfully misinterpreted a joke I made to my friends on Facebook.”

The big question everyone is asking today is...should Professor Phansey have been fired by Babson College? Do you agree or disagree with their decision?
