The latest deadly virus that is slowly spreading across the globe is the Coronavirus. It originated out of China in the Wuhan region of the country. According to the CDC, the virus is airborne and can be spread around when an infected person coughs or sneezes. Additionally, if you touch a surface where the virus is living then touch your nose, mouth, or eyes, you can contract the virus that way as well.
Symptoms of the Coronavirus are somewhat startling because they are the same type of symptoms as your average cold:
- runny nose
- headache
- cough
- sore throat
- fever
- a general feeling of being unwell
The Coronavirus has affected at least 540 people and killed 17 thus far. The United States has seen it's first case of the virus, in Washington State after a man returned from the Wuhan Region and showed symptoms of the virus. Now the CDC has started conducting screenings at numerous U.S. airports where passengers are coming in from or being redirected from Wuhan. More shocking than the fact that this virus has spread to the United States is how this virus has been contracted in the first place...one very strong suspicion is from people eating bat soup! It's a delicacy in China and that region where a full bat is fried, it's stomach is cut open and the contents of the fruit bat are then mixed with the broth that people eat...yummy huh? The images and videos of people partaking in this delicacy are just jarring!
This is wild to me! Would you ever eat a bat like this? Some people are really into trying new and foreign foods and delicacy but I can't imagine myself ever in any situation eating a bat...I don't even think if I was starving...
Reports say that the Coronavirus could be from bats in addition to snakes who actually eat bats who in turn eat fruit flies who carry this nasty virus. So lets get this straight, the fruit flies develop this virus, the bats eat the fruit flies, the snakes eat the bats, and humans eat bats and snakes in China, thus the Coronavirus now in humans.
