WEYMOUTH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Funeral services have been set for the family members, from Whitman and Weymouth, that were killed in crash in Florida last week while they were on vacation.
Mother Julie Smith, of Whitman, and her children — 5-year-old Scarlett and 11-year-old Jaxon — as well as their grandmother, Josephine Fay, of Weymouth, were killed in the crash near Disney World.
According to an obituary for Fay, a wake will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., and a funeral mass will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church in Weymouth.
Instead of flowers, donations in honor of Josephine can be made to the Smith and Fay Memorial Fund at the North Easton Savings Bank on Washington Street in Whitman. Donations can also be made in memory of Jaxon to the Pediatric Neurology Fund at Tufts Medical Center.
The family members were killed when a pickup truck crashed into their van. The children's father, grandfather, and two other sisters were also in the van at the time. They survived the crash.
