A new survey out of England conducted by researchers and experts from the University of Manchester and Open University found that based on personal attributes as well as work and living practices of people, taller people are at a higher risk of catching COVID-19. They found that individuals over 6 feet tall are two times more likely to contract COVID. This group of researchers surveyed about 2,000 people and analyzed the likelihood of contracting COVID through the air rather than just droplets and discovered that the Coronavirus is indeed being spread through the air and not just passed downward through droplets or else the taller people would not have this been contracting it to the level they have. Professor Evan Knotopantelis told The Telegraph that: "The results of this survey in terms of associations between height and diagnosis suggest downward droplet transmission is not the only transmission mechanism and aerosol transmission is possible."
At first I thought this was a joke but apparently it's legit and that people 6 feet and above are legit at a higher risk for contracting COVID due to the double chance of getting COVID through aerosol transmission as well a droplet transmission. Getting in the weeds, droplets are larger than aerosols and are thought to travel relatively short distances and plummet from the air. But aerosols, which can build up in poorly ventilated areas, are carried by air currents.
It honestly does not make much sense to me that someone taller would be at a higher risk because isn't it the same air up there as down here for shorter people? Whatever, these are the findings, do what you must with it but tall people, look out!
