Former Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell was reportedly found unconscious at his Washington, D.C., home on Sunday, June 14, following a possible heart attack. Multiple outlets, including The New York Post, TMZ, and The New Republic, cited emergency services audio from that day discussing an "unconscious" person at McConnell's address.

The 84-year-old Republican from Kentucky, who is retiring from the Senate at the end of this year, was hospitalized on June 14. His office confirmed his hospitalization but has not addressed the new reports regarding his condition. According to the Los Angeles Times, McConnell's spokesperson stated that he is receiving "excellent care" but did not elaborate on his condition or prognosis.

McConnell has experienced several health issues in recent years, including a hospitalization in February for "flu-like symptoms" and a fall in October 2025. He has not returned to the Senate since this latest incident and has not voted since June 11, as noted in AOL's report.

As McConnell continues his recovery, his spokesperson, Stephanie Penn, stated, "Senator McConnell is still working closely with staff on Senate business and Kentucky matters." However, he will not be voting this week.
