SALEM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — If you're feeling adventurous this Friday the 13th, Salem might be the place for you.

Witch City Walking Tours has a Friday the 13th tour that explores the origins of superstitions like stepping on a crack, throwing salt over your shoulder. Attendees can also try out a fortune teller-like test that was used by young girls.

"They'd crack an egg into a glass, and they'd hold up to a candle, and they'd look at the shape that it would make, and they could tell who their future husband would be," Beth Crowley, owner of Witch City Walking Tours, said.

The tour company started in the heart of downtown Salem in 2014, and the 90-minute Friday the 13th tour was added a couple of years ago. Crowley said they are "super excited" this year because there Friday the 13th happens three times this year.

"We really do have some very superstitious people that come on our tours," Crowley said.
