BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — It’s almost time to stop worrying about the snow and start worrying about the pollen.

AccuWeather has released the annual allergy forecast for 2026, detailing when pollen counts are supposed to rise. On the bright side, Massachusetts residents might get a slight break from the allergies this year.

Lack of rainfall and a colder winter have led to reduced weed growth and tree pollen, and AccuWeather says it should be lower than usual for this Spring.

AccuWeather added that although tree pollen is down, it usually means grass pollen rises. Rain and damp conditions can lead to especially bad grass pollen levels, with the worst expected to occur in June and July.
