BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A TikTok trend has some convinced that many travelers are wasting their time at airports.
Named "Airport Theory," it suggests that if you have TSA Precheck that you should arrive at the airport 15 minutes before your plane's departure time.
The goal is to have no waiting time outside the gate and walk right onto the flight, but that only works if there are no issues getting to your gate.
Many travelers at Logan Airport on Wednesday arrived hours before their flights, they said they wanted to make sure they got there on time.
"I'm here early because we didn't know what it was going to be like here," Bruce said, a Maine resident. "It's a huge airport," he added.
One traveler said they were at the airport "three hours early," and another said they arrived "about two hours before our departure time."
It seemed many of the travelers that WBZ NewsRadio spoke to felt that being extra early for their flight was better than cutting it too close and missing their flight because something went wrong at security.
Caitlin, a New Hampshire resident, said she would be worried of potential "waits getting through TSA."
"Maybe we'll get lucky here and it won't be terribly long," Caitlin added.
