BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Looking for lonely singles in your area this Valentine's Day? Your local animal shelter has hundreds of pets who want to go home with you.
Take Callie for example. She's a black-and-white, two-year-old Dogo Argentino mix who was part of a recent animal cruelty case. She loves her squeaky toy, and belly rubs.
Or Milo, an 11-month-old Chihuahua mix, who is sad in his kennel at the Animal Rescue League in Dedham. He's looking for a partner in crime to share kisses and long walks on the beach.
Or Moana, a black Cane Corso, who is still waiting to find her soul mate as well.

Danielle from ARL Boston told WBZ NewsRadio's Kim Tunnicliffe that homeless pets are loyal, loving, and extremely grateful you chose them.
"Animals can make just as good of a companion as people—sometimes better!" she said. "Any day, even if it's any holiday, any Friday, Saturday, Tuesday, you're giving an animal a home at the end of the day, and it's as good a day as ever."
In addition, if you make a donation during the month of February to ARL Boston's "Spread The Love" campaign, they'll match your donation, and you can send a Valentine's Day card that helps animals in need.
