TYNGSBOROUGH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Investigators in Middlesex County announced Monday that human remains were found buried under a garage floor in Tyngsborough after authorities received a tip about a potential murder in the town.
Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan told reporters at a press conference Monday that the investigation began on March 10 when a man called the Nashua, N.H. Police Department to report that a friend told him that he murdered someone a year ago and buried them in the floors.
Authorities identified the friend as Shawn Sullivan. Police said they found a suspicious patch in his garage floor, and when they started to dig, they found human remains.
Investigators believe the remains to be Jill Kloppenburg of Lowell, who has been missing since January of last year. Though the police have not been able to positively identify the remains, Sullivan has been charged with murder.
Authorities expect Sullivan to face more charges as the investigation continues.
