BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — This is the last year a province in Canada will observe daylight saving time, spurring another discussion in the United States.

This weekend will be the final time British Columbia will adjust its clocks, springing forward. The Canadian province is permanently adopting daylight saving time. A move that some locals, like James from Somerville, wish that the Bay State would also consider.

"It always springs up on me, and I'm never truly prepared. And I can definitely, for the first week or two, I can feel that lost hour of sleep."

Those who travel frequently to areas that don't observe daylight saving time, like Mark from the Seaport District, say adopting it would help them manage their commutes.

"I travel a lot for work, so in Arizona, it messes everything up, because they don't do daylight savings time out there. So sometimes it's a two-hour difference, sometimes it's three."

Ted from Boston says he doesn't mind losing an hour of sleep, but he does mind losing an hour of pay.

"Losing hours worth of business, because I'm in the car wash business, so it gets dark early. That hurts."

But not everyone has a problem modifying their clocks because life is about adjustments.

"I don't mind the change, because I'm used to it," Anastasia of Salem said.
