BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Partial closures are coming to the Green and Orange lines in the downtown Boston area starting Saturday, July 29 until Wednesday, August 9, the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority announced Friday.

The closures are due to the continued demolition of the Government Center Garage.

Green Line trains will be suspending service between North Station and Government Center. The MBTA will ask riders to walk above ground between the two stations.

Orange Line trains will not be stopping at Haymarket Station. The MBTA is asking riders to instead go to North Station or State and then travel to the Haymarket area.

Accessibility vans will be available for on-demand transporation.

The MBTA also announced the completion of 2,800 feet of track replacement on the Green Line B Branch. The B Branch was closed from July 17 to July 28 for the project and will resume regular service on Saturday, July 28.
