CONCORD, NH. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A promotional video from the New Hampshire Liquor & Wine Outlet has gone viral on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, garnering more than a million views. The video has reached 9x the audience the account usually hits.
In the ad, Director of Marketing, Merchandising, and Warehousing for the NH Liquor Commission Mark Roy pitches liquor and wine outlet offerings in the language of “Gen-Z”.
“To be honest, I didn’t get it,” Roy said.
Roy, a proud Generation Xer, pitches the store’s products with trendy sayings like “hot girl summer” and “very demure”, sayings often seen on social media apps like TikTok and Instagram.
“Kind of the mix of the over-the-top Gen-Z lingo script and Mark’s delivery as someone who isn’t in that demographic, was really fantastic,” Hailey McCaffrey of wedu said.
The performance was so good that internet commenters even suggested that the video was produced by an AI platform.
“I can conclusively tell you that I am not AI generated,” Roy said.
