GEORGETOWN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio— The warm weather has people flocking to their favorite garden center.

Some say it's the first weekend to really feel like spring, so many Bay Staters are getting out in the garden.

Stephen Flynn has retired from the family business, Nunan's Florist and Garden Center in Georgetown, but he still helps out. He knows his flowers, what's popular, and when to plant them.

"We have a lot of little pink perennials that you can plant with the daisies and in containers," Flynn said. "We have little forget-me-nots. We have English daisies, columbine, candy tough, so all that is just full of color.".

AccuWeather predicts a high of 52 degrees in Boston Sunday with plenty of sun followed by a low of 44 with increased clouds and a couple of showers.

Christina from Peabody says it's the perfect weather for her to tend to her garden.

"I have been dying to get out into the yard," she said. "I live for this time of year. I live for my garden."

Flynn suggests waiting to tackle your lawn because it needs to warm up some more, but said you should hit the flower gardens, the vegetable gardens, turn the vegetable gardens over, and put some compost in them. He also said it's time to get into the perennial gardens, take off the winter covering, and make sure all the leaves are out of the garden.
