Invoke the 25th Amendment

Biden’s mental incapacity is a threat to national security

By Jeffrey T. Kuhner

Joe Biden must be removed from the presidency. His obvious cognitive decline and growing dementia poses a mortal threat not just to our national security, but to world peace.

If you think I’m exaggerating simply look at his recent trip to Europe. First, Biden said that, if Russian strongman Vladimir Putin used chemical weapons in Ukraine, the United States would respond “in kind.” In other words, his administration would retaliate by launching a chemical or biological weapons attack against Russian forces. The end result would be World War III with Russia.

What is remarkable (and frightening) is that Biden cannot differentiate between Ukraine and U.S. vital interests. He does not seem able to grasp this fundamental fact: We are not at war with Russia. Nor has Congress declared war against Russia. Should Moscow resort to chemical weapons in its invasion of Ukraine—deplorable and barbaric as that would be—America has no military obligation to respond. In fact, a U.S. attack on Russian forces would be catastrophic, triggering a possible nuclear holocaust.

Yet, Dementia Joe was not done. In Poland, near the Ukrainian border, he addressed the U.S. 82nd Airborne Unit. Biden told our troops that “soon” some of them would be deployed to Ukraine, and they would “see for themselves” the bravery of the Ukrainians. Putin has repeatedly warned the West and NATO not to militarily intervene in Ukraine nor deploy any troops. For the Kremlin, it is a dark red line. And Putin has been crystal clear: Russia will respond to any deployment of NATO forces with a devastating nuclear strike.

Biden’s words were shocking and reckless. There are only two possibilities. Either he revealed classified information about a covert (and illegal) operation to send U.S. troops into Ukraine—an act of almost unparalleled strategic folly in history. Or (as the White House later claimed) Joey simply “misspoke.” But miscommunication and misperception are almost as dangerous as an actual military action. Words have consequences; all it takes is for Putin or some senior Kremlin officials to believe Biden is serious and this could spark a Russian nuclear attack.

Yet, his last blunder was probably the worst. Speaking in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, Biden delivered a fiery speech—full of bellicose rhetoric while also taunting and mocking Putin. At the end, Biden finished by throwing down the gauntlet: He demanded that Putin be removed from power. In short, Dementia Joe called for regime change in Russia.

His words shook the very foundations of Europe. World leaders—from London and Paris to Berlin and Rome to New Delhi and Beijing—almost immediately denounced them. The reason is simple: pushing for regime change in Russia would lead inexorably to a massive Russian military retaliation. By being backed into a corner and faced with the prospect of his government being toppled, Putin would almost certainly militarily lash out. Biden’s call for regime change was more than irresponsible and stupid; it threatens international peace and security.

It also gave Putin a huge propaganda victory—his biggest so far since he began his war in Ukraine. Biden’s words play right into Moscow’s narrative of an aggressive NATO hell-bent on the destruction of Russia.

The White House (again) tried to clean up Joey’s mess. Top administration officials insisted Biden did not mean what he said. Hence, the new position of the White House is for the world to no longer take seriously what the president says. This is not only unprecedented, but dangerous. For it begs the question: What if Biden is serious? What if he does want the United States to engage in an effort to overthrow the Putin regime? Then what?

Biden is deliberately provoking the Russian Bear. Since the beginning of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, cable TV talking heads—as if they know anything about Russia or Ukraine—have been speculating about Putin’s mental state. They insist, with no evidence, that the Russian leader is mentally declining and perhaps ill. According to them, only this explains his decision to annex and conquer Ukraine. Never mind that Putin is a Great Russian nationalist. He views Ukraine (rightly or wrongly) as a lost province to be restored to the Russian empire. Putin’s war of aggression—brutal, savage and criminal as it is—is at least understandable. He wants what Russian czars, going back to Peter the Great and Catherine the Great, wanted and secured: Ukraine as an integral part of Mother Russia.

Biden, however, is the exact opposite. His outbursts make no sense. They are clearly symptoms of dementia and mental degeneration. His cognitive decline is so bad it is now imperative that he no longer holds any press conferences—for fear of triggering a world war. He poses a clear and present danger to U.S. national security. It’s time to invoke the 25th Amendment and remove this senile, corrupt fool before he bungles us into a war with Russia. He must go before it is too late.
