Geoff Diehl wants to block aid to sanctuary cities

Rep. Geoff Diehl of Whitman, filed a House budget amendment to block federal funding to sanctuary cities such as Lawrence, Boston, Amherst, Somerville and Salem. Diehl has support from other Republican lawmakers. Today, on The Kuhner Report, Rep. Diehl said, “What we are trying to do is say that local aid should not be sent to any cities or town or any municipality that determines itself to be a sanctuary city.” He added, “What they (sanctuary cities) are doing is saying that they will refuse to have their local law enforce identify and deport those who are here illegally with criminal backgrounds.”
