Democrats call for Brett Kavanaugh's impeachment over new allegations

Democratic candidates for 2020 are calling for SCOTUS Brett Kavanaugh’s impeachment in the wake of new sexual misconduct allegations.

Senator Kamala Harris, who is running for president, was the first one to call for Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh's impeachment.

‘I sat through those hearings,' the California senator tweeted. 'Brett Kavanaugh lied to the U.S. Senate and most importantly to the American people. He was put on the Court through a sham process and his place on the Court is an insult to the pursuit of truth and justice. He must be impeached.’

A few hours later Sen. Elizabeth Warren joined Sen. Harris in demanding Kavanaugh’s impeachment.

‘Last year the Kavanaugh nomination was rammed through the Senate without a thorough examination of the allegations against him,' Warren said on Twitter. 'Confirmation is not exoneration, and these newest revelations are disturbing. Like the man who appointed him, Kavanaugh should be impeached.'

Julian Castro, another 2020 Democratic presidential candidate, agreed.

'It's more clear than ever that Brett Kavanaugh lied under oath. He should be impeached,' Castro tweeted.

President Trump also weighed in on the Kavanaugh allegations.

'Now the Radical Left Democrats and their Partner, the LameStream Media, are after Brett Kavanaugh again, talking loudly of their favorite word, impeachment,' he tweeted. 'He is an innocent man who has been treated HORRIBLY. Such lies about him. They want to scare him into turning Liberal!'

The president also suggested the Department of Justice should step in.

'Brett Kavanaugh should start suing people for libel, or the Justice Department should come to his rescue,' he posted in another tweet Sunday. 'The lies being told about him are unbelievable. False Accusations without recrimination. When does it stop? They are trying to influence his opinions. Can't let that happen!'
