Dedham public schools will be closed after the Dedham Education Association voted to strike. Dedham teachers have been without a contract for over a year.
The leaders of the Dedham Education Association say one of the main reasons for the strike is for a new contract for teachers to protect them from sexual harassment.
The last teacher strike in Massachusetts was in 2007. In Quincy, teachers where they were on strike for 5 days.
