Gov. Charlie Baker is apologizing to Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley

Gov. Charlie Baker has apologized for calling Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley's speech at an event honoring Martin Luther King, Jr. as a "rant."

Baker and Pressley spoke, along with Boston Mayor Marty Walsh and Sen. Ed Markey, at the 50th Anniversary MLK Memorial Breakfast Monday morning.

“I am so tired of people saying that what is ruining this country is identity politics,” Rep. Pressley said. “No, it isn’t; it is hate and white supremacy that is codified through legislation.”

Gov. Baker followed Rep. Pressley's remarks.

He said, "The only thing I can add to that rant, okay, is this.”

In a recording from the event, Pressley can be heard laughing after the "rant" comment.

Should Charlie Baker have apologized to Ayanna Pressley?
