Mayor Marty Walsh opposes federal agents in Boston

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh joined a dozen other mayors from across the country in a letter to the Trump administration in opposition of the use of federal agents to control violent protests.

The Department of Justice and Department of Homeland Security deployed agents, including U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the U.S. Marshals Special Operations Group, to protect federal property in Portland, Oregon.

Walsh said the letter was signed by Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler, Muriel Bowser in Washington D.C., Keisha Lance Bottoms in Atlanta, Jenny Durkan in Seattle, and Chicago’s Lori Lightfoot --- to the Department of Justice and Homeland Security officials, demanding them to stop the operations.
