New details in the deadly California boat fire show there was no escape hatch for the 34 people trapped below. Those words from the captain in his distress call. The response is unclear but by that time, the captain and four crew members had been plucked out of the water by another boat. They were upstairs and jumped overboard when the fire broke out off Santa Cruz Island near Santa Barbara. One crew member and 33 passengers were sleeping below deck. They were on a three-day holiday diving trip. The crew says three of the passengers had just celebrated their birthdays hours earlier including a 17-year-old girl on board with her parents. So far, 25 bodies have been found.
